Short Bio
Maria Posse was b. in Barcelona, Spain.
Studied Art and Literature at Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia, 1996); specialized in TV Documentary Production, Xaveriana University (Bogotá, 1998). She worked as a videographer and producer and got engaged in Colombia’s cultural and artistic scene as artist and writer.
In 2001, she obtained an M.F.A in Film, Video and New Media from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. She returned to the Colombian Caribbean where she taught and made documentaries, video installations and directed creative projects with local islander communities commissioned by the Colombian Ministry of Culture.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in Ethnofilm Festival (Berlin), Mad Cat, WIDC (Chicago), FICCI (Cartagena), Asakusa Knot Project (Japan), Museum of Modern Art (Bogota) Salon Nacional de Artistas (Cali). Currently lives in Sydney.
